Ice

When you live in Rexburg, Idaho you can pretty much be sure that winter will be long and icy. This winter is no exception. I'm not the worlds biggest fan of snow and ice (which is funny because for most of my life I have lived around lots of it). But I have to admit that it can look quite beautiful. I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago while I was out shoveling the driveway for the millionth time that week. They are all taken of downspouts on our house (one of our downspouts is a chain). They really aren't that beautiful (and I wish so much that I had a better camera so I could make things look like I see them), but I took these pictures because I could see beauty in something I really don't like. It was kind of a cool moment for me. So...I'll share with whoever might be reading...Oh, and if you are reading, I'd love to know (make a comment - hint, hint)

I'm still here! *grin* We get crazy ice out here in CT, too. There's a bush in the front that always ends up catching the drips from the gutters...and is coated in ice after every storm. Pretty cool!

I bet it's been quite a transition after the AZ winters. :) That picture of the chain is awesome! I love it! Hopefully spring will come sooner rather than later? :)

Driving on ice is not so fun, but cool icicles are pretty neat!

I love chains in the winter time because they are covered with ice. I totally see the beauty : )

Loved the chain one. Very cool pic. I don't like snow and ice either, so thanks for inspiring me to look for beauty in it. Actually, I do think it is pretty unless I have to go outside and drive or walk in it. :)
