My review
rating: 5 of 5 starsage range: preschool & up
themes: childhood, boredom busters, making do, family play
My Kindergartener brought home this delightful book as a homework project. I was very happy for the introduction to and discovery of this fun and wonderful book by William Steig!
Pete is sad because he can't go outside to play. Pete's dad makes the best of the dreary day and mood and decides to make Pete into a pizza. There's kneading, tossing, baking and topping fun on every page!
The language and pictures in this book are delightful. We received this homework assignment, via a pizza box. We excitedly opened the top to find the book, and "toppings" so that we could enjoy acting out the book as a family. What a wonderful way to share this fantastic book.
This is one book I will be looking to add to our home library.
