Happy + Busy = Happy Busy

So...from now until the end of the year...things get super crazy for me. It seems like I'm racing from one thing to the next for the next few months.

My husband's birthday is this week and I am trying to finish up a picture slide show DVD for him. (No...I'm not worried he'll find this out...I think he's read my blog about...once...maybe...) But I also wanted to get a couple of other things for him. So, I headed over to Kohl's this morning. And...they are having one heckuva sale over there! I got half of his Christmas shopping done too!!! Suh! Weet!!! Now...if I can just get that slide show to come together as nicely as my shopping trip to Kohl's.

Thanksgiving this year is going to be awesome, crazy, hectic and wowza!!! I'm having my parents, my sister's family (7 in total) and my little brother's family (5 in total) down here to enjoy our last shot (at least in the forseeable future) at a warm Thanksgiving. I can't wait!!! It is going to be so wonderful to have so many of the people I love here soaking up the sun and enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner in my backyard! And...you can see why things might get a little busy over the next several weeks...right?

Additionally...my goal is to finish my Christmas shopping on Black Friday!!! I have never been able to accomplish anything even remotely like that before...but this year...I have hope!!!

Let's not even venture into what is happening in December at this point.

I admit...I love being good and busy (not stressed and busy). It makes me feel useful and needed. And who doesn't need to feel useful and needed? I know, I know...I should feel useful and needed every day. I am a wife and a mother and my children and my husband certainly do need me. But this is different. This is feeling useful and needed in a way that asks me to stretch a bit and I think it makes me a better wife and mother. For sure it keeps me happy. And I think we all know...if Mama ain't happy...ain't nobody happy.

Whew, sounds familiar! We're having my brother's wedding right before Christmas and all sorts of out-of-town people are going to be staying with us. I need to get cleaning and get my shopping done early!

I have a Kohls right down the street from my work, and haven't been in ages. Very tempting!

I know what you're talking about! Between babysitting my neice for a few days, our house-hunting trip, and Thanksgiving, I feel like my November is already over! Add to that packing, moving, and Christmas preparations and I'm already pooped--and it's only Nov. 3! I'm just looking forward to having life settle down again sometime early next year...

BTW--I got the bowl. Thanks a ton! It's great!

It sounds like your Thanksgiving will be wonderful. I love to have lots of family around. Good luck getting everything ready!

One year, I had all my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving...it was so disappointing. On the one hand, I felt such relief but on the other, it was so disappointing to not need to buy anything in December. I'm looking forward to some really good deals for black Friday though!

I hear you! The busy season is just ramping up ... the key is to stay happy while busy, just like you pointed out :) !!

And I aim to have my Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving ... I am almost there!

Your Thanksgiving plans sound like so much fun!! I love Thanksgiving and I love having happy family gatherings! Once when we were little, our family went down to enjoy a warm Thanksgiving with Lowell and his family, but it was cold. :( It was still a great trip though, and I even popped in the icy cold pool for a bit.

Uh, I have not even started prepping for the holidays yet--oh, except for a few straggling Thanksgiving decorations.
Wish I was in AZ for Thanksgiving!
