I don't really know what to write about today. I don't have any clever and witty insights to share, I'm sick of the political scene at the moment, and for some reason the normal ho-hum just isn't getting me excited about writing today. Add that to the fact that Baby Boy didn't take his nap today leaving me without my normal time to blog...
So...here are some random things for your information.
Random-thing #1
I have finally gotten myself motivated to start reading Breaking Dawn (Book 4 of the Twilight series). Do not worry...I will write a full response to the entire series at some point. I must admit at this point in time...I do not understand why these books have so overwhelmed the world with vampire lust. I'm just not there. I will admit they are fun and definitely page turners, but I just don't feel the crazy obsession with them that I have been hearing about. Again...you can look forward to a more in depth look later...

I have started yet another blog. It is a book blog - but only for children's and adolescent literature. It is a place for me to keep my thoughts and feelings all together with reviews, age ranges and themes. I can do this partly on Goodreads, but I just wanted to add this element to it as well. At this point it's pretty bland as far as asthetics go, but I'm not sure I am going to keep it up. But...I guess I'll let you all in on it too. It's called Time for Tadpoles and you are welcome to check it out.

Thanks for all of your comments on my photography and political blogging lately. The few of you out there who actually read my blog on a regular basis are quite amazing, some might even say long-suffering and beyond patient. You are awesome and I'm glad to have such great bloggy friends.
Random-thing #4

I'm anxious to read your opinions on the Meyer books. I haven't read the last one but I thought I was the only person unimpressed with them!
I agree with the Twilight series. They are fun and a good read, but I don't get the craze. I'm about half way through the last one. I look forward to hear what you think.
I'm with you. I like the Twilight books. They are page turners, fun fiction. Kind of a nice break from reality. What they are SUPPOSED to be. But I'm not crazy obsessed like.. a lot of other people.
Aw man! If you have to motivate yourself to read it you definitely didn't get "bitten" :-D Oh well! At least now you know.
Whitney up there just discovered that I really dislike the series. Maybe I need to make my profile more clear.
I've never experienced anything like the Twilight series, where some women get personally offended when you tell them you don't like it.
Don't get me started!
I think the Twilight books, for me, were...just a break from reality. I was definitely excited to see the fourth book, but not excited enough to get my own copy. ;-) I waited a month or two before I could snag my Mom's copy of the book. I don't really get the "craze"...and I wish there were MORE books that were this (comparitively) clean, compelling and just fun to read! Alas, I've only found one or two other series that I like lately. (If you are at all into the vampire scene...just as characters, I really enjoyed the "City of Bones" series. The first two books are out, with a third coming out...next spring? Clean, well written, and I actually CARE what happens to the characters. Crazy, I know. It's written for adolescents...one of my favorite types of books! "Adult" books have too many...adult themes to be truly relaxing. :-))
Yeah I haven't read Book 4 yet either and don't really have the drive to. I enjoyed the other three, but not enough to be obsessed with them.
I liked the Twilight series. I also took it for what it is....a teenage romance series.
I only had something to blog about today because it is my baby's birthday--I have got to stop calling her baby--she's 3 now!! )0:
I've enjoyed the first book in the series so far. I haven't got around to the others yet. I agree that they're great stories, I couldn't put the book down when I was reading it, but I haven't been in any rush to go out and pick up the rest of the series. I figure I'll get to it eventually.
I meant to comment on your last post--sorry, I was just busy all weekend. I think you handled the topic well, and I love the links you included--excellent. In fact I recommended them to a bloggy friend from California who is very committed to getting the word out on Prop 8.
I look forward to reading your blog every day. Thanks for the humor, wisdom and fun!
Hey you! Pick a childhood memory, try writing on that. I enjoy your blog!
Hi Leslie! Thanks for tagging me - I had fun filling it out. I finally got around to doing it this morning, so there you go! Thanks for the random thoughts today.
Winnie the Pooh is blog-worthy!! Always...such a Pooh fan! I am the "Pooh Bear" in the fam, my dads' nickname for me, so write about Winnie...said Wendy...LOL!
My 12 yr old daughter has been begging me to read that Twilight series. Her door sized Twilight poster scares me. Not into vampires, even if there are some nice ones.
