This Blog Break Brought to You By...

I did not mean to take a break from blogging.  It just happened.

I know you are curious to know why...right?

First of all...Dr. D finished Winter Semester at BYU-I.  This always means lots of busyness with final recitals, grading, etc.  And when he finished everything, he took me on a romantic overnighter to this awesome place in Island Park.

Next, Jewel played in her second piano recital.  She was awesome and amazing and all that good stuff.

Then...I rolled my ankle walking back from the park with the kiddos (I assure you I was totally graceful in my fall off the edge of the sidewalk) and couldn't walk for several days.

I planned and executed a fun baby shower for my sister-in-law who is getting ready to welcome a baby girl (awwww).

But biggest reason I was forced into a blog break was because I was reading, reading, reading...

What was I reading?

I read The Hiding Place for my book club and The Far Pavilions was recommended and loaned to me by one of my dearest friends.  The Hiding Place took me two days to read, but The Far Pavilions is 955 pages and took me a bit longer.  At one point I could hardly stand to tear myself away from the book.

I do love getting lost in a good book, but I will have to give myself a break from 1000 page, emotionally exhausting novels for a while.

Do you ever get lost in a good book?

Oooh, I love a good book. And a blog break is always good. I have taken many. :-)

I've wanted to read the Hiding Place. I'll have to read the other one, when I have time to read a 1000 page book! Not sure when that will be. :)

I got lost this weekend in "Same Kind of Different As Me". I highly recommend it (it's a quick read).

P.S. So sorry to hear about your ankle! Hope it's healing well.

The Hiding Place is one of my all-time favorites!! I read it every few years to remind myself to be thankful for fleas.

And, I love Island Park - so happy you got to go there.
