When Mama Ain't Happy...

...Ain't nobody happy.

Have you noticed this to be true in your home?

I have always laughed at this - quite heartily I might add.

I laugh knowing that it is absolutely, completely and totally...true.

This weekend was a crazy busy weekend. There was so much that I had to do and get done and to top it all off...I was not feeling good. I had a cold - my head and throat throbbed and my voice all but left me for 2 days. It all put me in a not-so-happy-go-lucky mood.

When mama's grumpy...everybody's grumpy.

My patience was short and while I wasn't trying to be mean...I just wasn't being very nice.

Last night...I got to bed early (Hallelujah!!! - insert singing chorus here).

Probably because I got an insane amount of sleep for a mom...I woke up early this morning. I must admit...I love it when I wake up first. It gives me some quiet alone moments to compose myself before the day begins. Instead of staying in bed and just basking in the quiet...I got up...read scriptures, prayed and breathed. Just as I finished my morning meditaion...the rest of the house started to wake up. For the first time in ... maybe ever ... Baby Boy called for me to come and get him out of bed.

Bad mood over...let the new week begin!

Leslie,
I appreciated your comments on my blog. I haven't been a very faithful blog reader/commenter lately. :( I'm glad to know you can understand my guiltiness over having an incredibly nice husband. :)

I agree it's nice to be up before everyone else and have some time to think! Thanks for sharing...

I am just trying to figure out now how to be less grumpy on a daily basis, because it truly does affect the mood of the whole house!
