Five Years & The Big Secret Revealed

The Birthday party is over. Phew!

I asked myself a million times over the last week why I let birthday parties stress me out so much. I don't know the answer, but I get myself all crazy about things like that. Why? The kids aren't going to care if I don't have the perfect decorations or the perfect anything...they are 4 and 5 year old kids and they just want to eat and play. I think I have made a bit of a break through however...my husband pointed out that on Tuesday instead of making myself sick with worry about making things right, I just said (audibly), "Well...it's not going to be perfect and that's just going to have to be OK." Also...on the morning of the party I slept until the kids woke up. For Big Sis' birthday party last year, I woke up at 3 am (because I was stressing out) and started decorating.

In the end...I think the kids had a fine time and Big Sis loved her party. That's the most important thing anyway, right?

I just have to say here...I can't believe I have a 5 year old. That means I have a child who will be starting school in August. I will have to make plans around school schedules, etc. This is crazy! How is it possible that I have a 5 year old? Now Leslie, I hear you saying, you are being ridiculous...you have friends who have teenagers, you are old, you should have children who are much older, what's up with you? My response...I just can't believe my little baby girl is 5...I don't know why.

Okay...last thing...Yesterday we finally told the kids the secret we have been keeping for months. Let me allay your fears now...I'm not pregnant. We are going to DISNEYLAND! When? Next week...Monday to be exact. We are spending a week in the Happiest Place on Earth. Who is more excited...the kids...my husband? Nope...it's me!

Disneyland! How fun! My earliest memories are of a trip my family took to Disneyland(pretty much everything there terrified me...).
I can't believe I have a 3 year old and can only imagine what it will be like in two years when he turns 5 and is getting ready to start school.

Disneyland is WAY more fun then being pregnant! And not as expensive either!

I couldn't believe it when my oldest started kindergarten. It made me fell really old somehow. :)
And as for Disneyland? Awesome! I'm the one who gets pumped up around here for things like that as well.

I ADORE Disneyland!! Love it, love it, love it, love it. It's the best place ever! Did I mention that I love it?!

Have so much fun!

My baby will be in second grade next year; the next baby is also five years old. How did this happen? Oh, and the third baby is starting preschool. Seriously, it does go by really, really fast. Too fast. That's why we spoil the youngest children, hoping they don't grow up. I hope my 16 month old realizes it's not his fault he's spoiled rotten. :)

P.S. Wait. You mean another week without Leslie blogging!?! Seriously, you know how to torture people...

HI there! Disneyland IS way fun. In fact, we were just there today. I'm not sure it's less expensive than being pregnant though. That could be debated :-P HAVE FUN! You guys deserve a nice family vacation.

Yay! I would love to go to Disneyland. And good for you for letting go of some of the stress. I get the same way. I will have my husband set his alarm for way early so I don't sleep in but then I wake up before his alarm even rings. So silly.

Have fun in Disneyland. When I was on my mission in Long Beach, I lived right down the road a few miles from it. I wanted to go and just people watch....but there's just way too many people there to watch. Crowds are not my thing. But the kids will LOVE it. It is a great place.

Leslie,
I stress over things like that too. . way to much and I agree with you. I don't think the kids will remember or care too much as long as they had friends and cake!

DISNEYLAND! Woo-hoo! That will be so fun. Can't wait to see the pics.
