No Time Off For Good Behavior?

Well folks...it's getting late here and I still haven't posted today. Here's my best attempt...

So...it was a crazy (in a good way) weekend. My husband's recital rocked (as much as a classical violinist can rock)! By Sunday night everyone had gone home and we were left with the four of us eating a nice little dinner of leftovers and looking at each other with glazed expressions.

The kids were tired, my hubby was tired, and I was tired.

The home teachers came - one of them asked me what I do when I need a nap because he could tell that my Baby Boy needs constant attention. I said, "Um...when you are a Mom, you don't really get naps." As soon as they were gone, Hubby was out the door to his own home teaching appointments. When Hubby had been gone for about an hour...I sat down for a few minutes with the kids. I could hardly keep my eyes open. Why, oh why did I say Mom's don't get naps to the home teachers...I called my man and said, "Could you come home, I don't think I can keep going." Luckily he was about 1 minute away.

An hour and a half later (or so I am told), I realized that someone was trying to wake me up. I squinted and saw, through the fog, the kind face of my darling husband. He wanted me to come get in bed because that was where I needed to be. I tried to resist, insisting that I was OK now and that he didn't need to worry about me. He had put both kids to bed in the interim.

I got myself up and walking and pulled enough energy out of my energy-less body to talk to Hubby for a about a half hour before I decided I could officially call it a night.

Wow...was I one tired chica! It has taken me until today to really begin to feel like I'm recovering. Sheesh! I'm so glad Hubby was here on Sunday to take over because when Monday came...I think you all know what comes with a Monday morning...

Who says Moms don't get naps? I take one at least once a week, usually more. :)

I wish I could nap every day. I certainly need it too.
And congrats on your husbands excellent recital.

Sorry --moms don't get naps. Ever. And if they do, they are the lucky ones! Of course, once kids sleep through the night (and we are able to go to bed at a decent hour), the naps aren't really needed, eh?

Glad you got some rest!!

I'm a lucky Mom of only one baby who takes good naps, so I indulge in the privilege of a nap quite often. I'm sure that will change when she's older, when we have more kids, and when we live in a house that needs more attention than my small apartment. For now, I gladly take advantage of a nap!

Your husband is so sweet! I'm glad you got some rest too!

I love when my husband lets me nap and lets the kids scream by my door. It took him a long time to understand why I couldn't nap through that. Now he is much better about it, but I still don't get naps very often.

Haha. I love "Ice Cream's" comment. Glad my husband isn't the only one who "doesn't notice" the commotion near wherever I'm trying to get a few minutes of rest! Fun times :-)
